Andrew Hrsto created ALAND to fulfil his personal vision of delivering high-quality, aspirational housing to the people of Sydney, and helping customers to realise their own financial ambitions through property ownership.
As the Founder & Owner of ALAND, Andrew has been instrumental in ensuring the group’s success and continues to drive its corporate mission which is to create beautiful, sustainable and long-lasting buildings – and thriving new communities.
In recent years, Andrew has stepped into an advisory role at ALAND, following the appointment of George Tadrosse as CEO. Having stepped away from day-to-day operations, Andrew’s charter is identifying new opportunities for the company.
At the same time Andrew is playing a key role in formulating a strategy for ALAND to achieve its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives, so that the company can meet the expectations of customers, stakeholders and employees.
In particular, Andrew is passionate that today’s building companies must become more environmentally sustainable and has driven many innovations at ALAND, such as reducing carbon emissions by using solar power, ambitious battery storage, providing communal green spaces, rainwater harvesting and the installation of EV charging stations.
As a long-time sponsor of major sporting clubs including the Parramatta Eels Men’s and Women’s teams and Sydney United plus important charities such as the Cancer Council and SCCP, Andrew has a proven track record of supporting the communities in which ALAND operates – a commitment which is part of its DNA.
Andrew is proud of the success that ALAND has enjoyed over the last two decades and is dedicated to ensuring that the company continues to thrive. He also recognises the need for strong leadership and proactive succession planning, which requires an ability to identify and prepare future leaders as well as sharing valuable corporate knowledge.
Despite ALAND’s impressive growth over recent years, Andrew insists that its core values of trust, respect, integrity, innovation, discipline and teamwork have remained unchanged.
